I love to read poetry but I don't collect it and can't quote it. I would love to see what others have to offer in this topic.

Am not much of a poetry fan, myself, but one of the sites I know is Poetry Daily. Am not going to pretend that I appreciate every poem, or even that I understand them, but still there are some days when the poetry is great!

I have read many inspiring poems but I want to share this particular one with members here. Click this link to read it, The Awakening - written By Sonny Carroll

My favorite inspirational poem is Invictus, by William Ernest Henley. It talks about mastering your fate and being strong despite life's challenges.

    It goes like this:

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I love 'I've learned...by Andy Rooney'. It is more of life’s lessons than inspirational, but all the same, it’s my best poem its encouraging and it can be used as a regret analysis tool, i.e. do it before it’s too late.
