A loan agreement of Sh16.9 billion has been signed by the State-owned Xim Bank of China to finance the construction of the southern by-pass road project. This move has added to the long of Chinese funded projects.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance signed a preferential credit loan agreement with the lender for the road that is expected to run from St James Hospital on Mombasa Road to Kikuyu, off the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
