As far as Jesus is famous, He is not a celeb following that celebs are famous of their entertainment businesses of which Jesus was not for He did not do entertainment business but His mission of ensuring salvation to mankind.
Jesus cannot be ranked a celebrity. He is God and we all are subjected to Him. He came for all and therefore all need to fall for Him even if they rejected and crucified Him. All I know is that one should have opponents and counterparts. A celebrity is merely fame of someone due to performance on stage but may not be known throughout the world, yet Jesus is known by everyone all over and it is about Him we learn and by following His ways we live. Celebrities in most cases indulge in nasty activities in the name of fame. Jesus never showed off but His deeds made world go round about Him.

Jesus is celeb. He is famous. He entertained people in a wedding by changing water into wine.
Jesus is not a celebrity. He is the Messiah.Luke 9:20 He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Peter answered, ‘The Messiah... 21 He sternly ordered and commanded them not to tell anyone,
Absolutely not; He is an Heavenly being who comes to save and redeem not to acquire something out of it! Everything He did was different from what celebrity entails since His mission was different from what other famous people like Him did! He came to win souls into the Kingdom and provide life and hope where there wasn't one!
It is true that gifts for best friends express friendship thoughts and emotions.
Jesus was not a celebrity, many misunderstood who he was and his mission, celebrities do things that earn them fame but Jesus did what he was commissioned to do to the human race.

Jesus can never be a celeb; being famous does not necessary mean one is a celeb. The Bible says clearly what His disciples said about Him when He asked them about His identity; He is the Messiah son of the most living God.
