    Default Quick Baptism Decision

    Have you ever been to any crusade? Have you witnessed people who have made quick decision to be baptized in a crusade? What is the better way to follow in order to be baptized? I listened to a sermon that most people who read the bible and Christian's articles to know the word of God and who Jesus Christ is and how salvation is attained before being baptized are unlikely to backslide compared to those who don't (who make quick decision to be baptized).

    How true is this to you?

    What are the correct steps for one to follow before he/she is baptized?

    Family and Friends.

    Life is short, too short. Meanwhile use it in finding solutions .

    It’s quite true people get baptized because maybe their friends have been baptized or they want to be identified as Christians because they don’t understand what baptism is. Baptism is not about being dipped in water it is cleansing of sins and starting new life in Christ.

    You need to;

    • Have Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be willing to do whatever he tells you to do.
    • Repent of your sins.
    • Be baptized by one who holds the same authority as John the Baptist did re and by immersion as Jesus was.
    • Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands from someone who has the same authority that Paul did.

    Different religions have different believes in baptism. Crusade making churches believe that you can receive baptism at any point you feel to have received salvation. Being not the case to other religion like the Catholics where you must undergo baptism classes to prepare one fully in order to receive such a sacrament, then specified steps are not in existence. Generally it is a matter of repenting and receiving the Holy Spirit.

    Default Baptism or Salvation?

    A Christian needs to accept that Jesus is Lord and that he saved him from God’s wrath over sin and should also be baptized to bury the old body and rise with Christ anew. Now, what should come first between salvation and baptism?

    Wonderful a question to tackle, Philip when he was told by an angel to go close to the chariot where the Eunach from Ethiopia had boarded, he had the eunach read the book of Isaiah. Then he asked the eunach whether he understood what he was reading. The story goes on until where we are told that after he had preached Jesus Christ from those verses, they near a river and the eunach asked if there was anything that could hinder him from being baptized. But Philip told “if you believe you will be baptized.” So requirement of getting baptized is after believing the word of God, and how can believe unless by reading or listening that same word someone has to reveal the word to you.

    Know the reason why you want to be baptized.
