Prune off Unwanted Parts

When you want your plants to develop into a greater fruitfulness you have to prune it using a sharp knife in cutting off unwanted parts then make sure you apply the necessities that will contribute to improve the production.

Likewise to us if we want to succeed in our spiritual growth we have to read the Bible and pray for God to guide us in putting everything we learn into practice so that we may stand firm in case of any temptations that comes on our way.

Some of us wonder actually what Paul meant in 2 Corinthians 12:7.

To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surprisingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my fresh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.

Paul was having a constant attack from enemies. G. White comments that it seemed to have a problem with his eyesight. Paul believed that his thorn was given to him. He recognized that by nature there is a weakness to sin. In your life have you ever realized your weakness and ask God to develop it through his pruning. God knows our hearts and even our characters better than us.

Similar to the time of prophets they condemned any form of evil, why should you wait to told of your sins instead of changing by yourself, we should try as much to live righteous life everyday and seek forgiveness always.

If you are in need of success in your life, you must first prune all the unwanted branches and that means you have to stop every sinful ways you have been walking and follow Christ as the savior and the light for the true ways we have to take.

It is said in the book of Mathew that if a part of your body causes you to sight cut it off. For it is better enter into the Kingdom without this part but you enter. But this doesn’t literally mean that we should cut off hands legs and so on. We are called to prune our evil desires and behaviors and any other ways that lead us astray.

29If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.* 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to go into hell.* Mathew 5:29-30

Jesus taught in ht e gospel of Mathew that any branch in His vine that bears no fruit He would cut and throw to the fire. Being productive means we must first do the will of God by loving all people. It also teaches that if it is your left hand that will make you not to see the kingdom of God then you better chop it off. If it is your eye spoil it so that it never sees sin again. Everyone has a weakness and it is only God who will let us strong if only we accept to pave way for Him through Jesus’ name.
