The Ten Egyptian Plagues

Moses was a great prophet called by God with an important task to perform, as an instrument in the hand s of the lord he performed many signs and wonders, attempting to convince Pharaoh to allow the Israelites freedom from their bondage of slavery.


This wonders {plagues} were sent from the God of Israel as a proof that, he the true one God is greatly far from the multiple gods of the Egyptian.


Just as the Ten Commandments became symbolic of the fullness of the moral law of God, the ten plagues of Egypt represents the fullness of God’s expression of justice and judgment upon those who refuse to repent.


In ten times God through Moses allows Pharaoh to change his mind and repent turn to the true God, each time increasing the severity of the consequences of the plagues, he suffered for disobedience to his request.


Because of the pride he had he refuses to be taught by the lord for ten times, this leads to him receiving judgment through the plagues pronounced upon him.

Amongst the plagues were the turning of water into blood, a swarm of locusts, death of animals, death of first born of the Egyptians…. Let the others fill the list.

Of the ten plaques that the Egyptians faced was the slaying of the firstborns, Skin Diseases, Pestilence which ate up their profit on the sheep, cows, donkeys and all kinds of game; Wild beasts and lice of various sizes which adversely attacked them and brought great pain, fear and calamity. Others were the plague of blood and locusts. They made the Egyptians learn the hard way that the God of Israel was and is really God and great.

The question should be what lesson did they learn from those plaques? which as that the Israelite served a true living God. The Egyptians realized that the Israelite had a great God.
