Purity Is a Lifestyle

We are of God, a holy God and that he demands from u that we be sanctified just like He is. He requires that we be pure by obedience to His commands and this sanctification is from Him alone.

(John 17:17)

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth...

Keeping the word of God in our hearts, meditating and practising the same wins a pure heart before the Lord, something He is pleased with.

Psalms 119:9-16

... How can young people keep their way pure? By guarding it according to your word ... With my whole heart I seek you; do not let me stray from your commandments. I treasure your word in my heart; so that I may not sin against you...I will not forget your word.

A lying tongue, a hand that sheds innocent blood, steals or an eye that covets, a deceitful heart, all these are impurities for they are against the word. Purity cannot be derived from impurity either.

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? (Job 14:4)

In the bible where the word from the Lord is recorded we get the whole truth by which we should abide. The truth sets us free from wickedness for we know the right thing to do where and when.

(John 8:32)

And you shall know the truth; the truth shall set you free.

Purity is a lifestyle; it goes by the way we speak, think, eat, dress, the people we hang around with, the way we act towards other people and our motives. What we do always seems right to us but God judges every our deeds.

(Proverbs 16:2)

All one’s ways may be pure in one’s own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.

We should focus on keeping ourselves pure because the God who created us is very holy, we were created without sin but after our parents committed evil then it made us a generation with sins, but all in all if we keep the God’s commandments then everything will be okay and we will be clean creatures. The bible also tells us that if it is one of our organs that make us commit sin then better remove it.

We should all strive in maintaining our lives to be pure. Since we were born sinners and I ask, is it possible to live without committing any sin?

When we eat of the food of the spirit which is the word of God then we shall be clean and pure. This should not be something done once in a while for your purity to be a lifestyle then reading the word too should be a lifestyle. They can’t work the other way round.

Repentance was granted to us so that each time we fall we are able to reconcile with God through the same, however not intentionally. We are human and weak; we should not swear to God not to sin anymore but ask that He deliver us from wickedness.
