Until when shall we continue to live in agony, fear and trials? When shall we reach our peace and settle in joy with our Lord? But with hope the Lord of hosts shall let us cross over from the worse to the better. Our faith, however little, will deliver us from the turmoil at hand.
A true Christian who bears the love and salvation of God through Jesus should not fear what the devil brings forth but should let the spiritual battle kick on. Many a times we are faced by challenges and we seem to fall short of faith, something that renders us victims. Remember we are more that victors by the death of Christ. We should not be shaken for we were not given the spirit of fear.
As human beings, we are prone to sin and every form of wickedness since the Prince of evil is living amongst us. He has held us in darkness and still entices us into sin. We have run short of knowledge and are by and by perishing unless we come to the light of God through reading the word of God. We need to cross over from darkness to light; stop living the nasty past and live on with Jesus.
When we are befallen by trouble to nearly peril, we forget what we have at hand the name of Jesus and instead rush to helpless things as sorcery or physical fighting back. Remember in all this time God watches us and wonders what a shallow faith we have. When Jesus and his disciples were crossing over the ale to the other side where there was a call, a heavy storm arose and they nearly drowned. Jesus was asleep at the back on a mattress but the disciples were busy drawing water from the boat in which they were riding. They were trying to save their selves forgetting who they were with. It is later that they realized their efforts could not yield success that they awoke Jesus to their rescue. He revoked their little faith.
They didn’t have to fear for a savior was with them. All this time Jesus was aware of what was going on but assumed it all just to measure their faith. After Jesus ordering the waves and wind to calm, they still wondered what sort of person He was. They knew not who Jesus really was. That is the same way we ignore the powerful and precious name of Jesus when we are caught up in a squeeze and we try to act on our own. God wants us to recognize Him always and He will surely help us cross over to the safer side.
When we were lost in sin Jesus came with love and compassion and offered to die for us so that we get saved from God’s wrath. He let us cross over from eternal death to eternal life. It is through the name of Jesus that we have been given authority to do everything. It is the name that we should be proud of. With Jesus we walk fearlessly amongst lions and beasts.
