In the world of sin and turmoil, we are faced by some situations so tough for us that we lose hope of making it through anymore. We feel as if all have abandoned us and we have no other solace to turn to. In many situations in the bible and even in real life of today, we read and hear about testimonies of people and how God had rescued them from a very difficult situation.

As Christians and believers we should have hope in what we read from the bible and what we experience daily and know that God has good plans for each one of us. He does not want us to suffer but that we should live to serve Him and he will bless and protect us always. Sometimes God lets us in agony with no one to turn to so as to test our faith in Him. He assumes us so that we can remember to call upon Him for help for from Him alone it comes. He wants people to discover His greatness through what He is going to do to let you out of the predicaments befalling you.

Remember Lot and the two visitors who were God’s angels. Men armed from the city came to attack them at Lot’s house. Lot knew they were the Lord’s servants and so he never wanted any ill to befall them. He therefore begged that the men spare them in substitute of his virgin daughters to be raped by the men. He had no other way to defend the visitors. When God saw his sacrifice, He saved both lot and the daughters by sending the enemies blind such that they could not trace their way back. The story is well explained in the book of Genesis 19.

On another instance, Ibrahim and Sarah for many years even to their advanced age never had a child. One day God gave them one and they could not believe this at such an old age. Remember Sarah was over ninety years. Again, God commissioned Ibrahim to sacrifice the only son they had. He opposed or questioned not but went his way to the mountain. He had ay out to save his son but when God saw the faith He had in Him He provided a ram for sacrifice in spare of Isaac.

Only the patient and tolerant will make it to paradise. There are many hills and valleys on the travel road of salvation but we need to as well tough for us to make it through. The devil targets the faithful so that he can fail them from safety. He wants a crew to perish with in hell after judgement.
Without faith we annoy our God; it is what determines our full trust and dependence on Him. In the book of Philippians 2:13, we are encouraged to work on for the crown ahead.

...for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
We therefore are sure that Christ saved us and revived our hope to live on, even eternally. God would have otherwise let us to perish but for His love for His people.
