Default Is there a god?

I have been born and raised a Roman Catholic but have come a point in my life that I believe there is no god at all? Is it okay to let your child know your belief or should I keep this on my own?

Well, I would certainly wait at first. We all reach a point in our lives where we have to really re-examine what we have been raised to believe and we have to figure out for ourselves what we think. I wouldnt' let on to your child if the child is young.
I DO belive in God. I have seen too much to NOT believe in Him. And children NEED something to believe in to give them security. As your child grows up, he or she will decide what they believe on thier own, and you need to allow them to do that. If your child decides to believe in God and you still don't that is your business, but I wouldnt' take that away from the child right away. What if your wrong?

It is personal, but I do believe in God. There is surely a power that is holding the whole world together. There are certain questions that do remain unanswered but still...regarding children let them grow and make their own opinions, I will not pester them this way or that way.

I am an athiest myself but I have no kids to complicate things. You should expose your child to different beliefs and religions, including athiesm and let him/her choose. Maybe it is time we expose young people to athiesm.

Religion has caused enough misery in this world. They have caused numerous wars and conflicts in the name of their respective gods.

Default There is a God

How do you explain all the things that happen if you believe there is God? All i can say is God is there think of all the situation you have been in life and you made it through. Do you seriously think you did yourself. Think about it and give it another second thought before you decide

Yes there is a God, despite of all the problems in this world. Keep in mind that he's always there for us and he loves us. Never ever question God's existence for you, yourself alone is nothing without Him.

Obviously without being created by someone we can not able to get our life. Scientists prove that there is a god who is controlling everything of heaven and earth.

Every time I hear people ask "Is there God, and if so does he exist" I always remember this verse from the Bible: Joshua 24:15 and it reads:

Quote:
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fore-fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose lands you are living.

But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
If you read this verse, this is the story of Joshua as it nears it's end. And as you can see very clearly the Lord gives us a choice. We can choose to serve him or any other god's we prefer.

But remember each choice we make has a consequence now or in the future.

You decide but be careful also on how and what you teach your children because the way you bring up a child is mostly likely going to reflect how they live their live when they become adults. For the Bible says in Proverbs 22:6
Quote:
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Whether or not your child should know your absence of faith on God really depends on what you want your child to believe. If you are Ok with the fact that your child is an atheist, go right ahead and tell him. Rest assured, what you believe would be what he believes.

I truly can relate to you Asante as I was also born a Catholic but have lost my faith along the way. It has been years since I last visited a church and have not had confession since I was 12, I think. I do not go about preaching athiesm but deep inside I doubt he even exists.
