Angry When you go Rome do what the Romans do?

Who said this for crying out people? Does it mean you should abandon what you have learnt since you started growing up what you have known your whole life for the simple fact that you moved into a different country that do things differently. Some cultures are awesome if assimilated but some are absurd.

When I first moved to the states somebody told me in America clubbing is part of life and the luggage of stress it brings along. Having grown up in Christian boarding schools I took this in quite a surprise. I have never been in a club my whole life and one day am supposed to wake and it was to be part of my life?

I took the initiative to get acquitted to life in America and decide to go to one. The rest is history but all I can say it was not worth it. My legs were hurting after standing on the queue for two hours in my high heels .When I got in after paying thirty dollar the music was more of noise than entertainment and the smell of alcohol, people’s breath, perfumes and sweat was in the air trust me it was uncomfortable especially on the dance floor.

I gave up in doing what Americans do I went home frustrated and my nicely painted toes messed up and it took me almost two hour in the beauty shop trying to make them look perfect. It was a lesson learnt

I do not think we should just follow the customs of the new places that we go to. We should keep our identity and pride in ourself. If clubbing is really not your type, why should you follow everyone else who wants to go dancing? I am sure your new place also has peopl that share your interests in life, however niche they may seem.

I would hardly say that its only American's that go clubbing, where are you from?? When looking at other customs then yes we should follow, If we are a guest in anothers country and the custom is not to shout, dont shout, If it is not to wear your shoes in their house dont. But I cannot see how you have to go clubbing in America, they are many Americans that dont!
