    Default Is Polygamy Healthy?

In the past polygamous marriages were very much appreciated, still some people prefer polygamy in that they want to be respected in the society. But I feel that it is unhealthy, due to spread of STDs and STIs transmission. What is your opinion?

I am of the same opinion, polygamy allows room for the spread of STDs following that they are many in the current generation, some like HIV/AIDS have no cure and thus, polygamy will ensure its fast spread hence many deaths.

Nowadays it is the opposite; marry another wife and you lose your respect. It is one way of ruining your entire family, for in the past people had enough natural resources and they were very responsible to all their families. Even the bible does not support it.

Polygamy thrived in the early days because diseases such as HIV/AIDs and other STD's did not exist or were not widespread as today. But since times have changed, these days polygamy is not advised considering the sharp rise in infidelity in marriages, it is likely that a polygamy family is at a higher risk of getting infected with such deadly viruses and STD's.

Wish you'd pick the 'is' add a 'not' to it and insert them between 'polygamy' and 'healthy.' That could make alot of sense to me. What I am advocating is that it is a practice whose times are long gone. Evident from the cost of living-the economy, society moral decadence and emerging diseases.

Although there are people in the Bible who practiced polygamy, Christians do not recommend it. One man one wife is recommendable to avoid sexual transmitted diseases and to bring up a family that doesn't lack basic needs.

Although the Old Testament has stories of people with more than one wife, the New Testament is against it. It clearly advocates for one man, one wife. We should stay away from polygamy not only because we could contract some disease but also because the bible does not advocate for it.
