Default Selecting the Theme Colour for Your Wedding

With a sigh of relief, the bride walks down the aisle to meet and be joined with the love of her life. But do you think it was that easy planning for the same?

Most couples get disappointed when they realize that their function did not turn out as planned. That is why enough time is required to put everything into place. This of course requires both parties’ co-ordination, or they can outsource ideas from an expert consultant.

The theme colour of your wedding will determine the elegance of your wedding though. It therefore demands higher attention and co-operation from both the males and females (maids). It is advisable to match colours right from the dresses, flowers, the cakes and even the carpet.

Choosing the colours might not be easy or might even be confusing on which one will make the day a perfect! It is even complex when your man does not seem to agree with your choice and combination of colours. It is therefore recommendable that you buy ideas from friends or choose your groom’s best colour. Just ask him earlier before you even begin planning for the wedding or study what colour he loves picking most when you go shopping. That could be his darling colour and to amaze him, make it the theme colour. Maybe he fancies red and white while you are for azure and gold or even fuchsia.

After discussing with your partner and agreeing on a particular combination, liaise with your maids and men from the groom’s side and the flower girls, though these do not seem to cause a problem. Make sure that, to make it more stylish, men’s ties/bowties or shirts match with the flowers or maids’ dresses. The bride and groom should as well do with something related to the theme colours. Let the attire be of the same design according to gender.

Here are some tips on the colour combination you can choose:

    • A fuchsia maxi dress with a white robe, fuchsia flowers incorporated with white or purple can do great! The hair bands and shoes can be both white or silver shoes and a pink head flower. White or black suits for men with black shoes, fuchsia ties and coat ribbon.

    • Purple and blue are cool colours, which can go well with white or gold. With blue, shoes can be either black, silver or white but with purple, white or silver can do perfect!

    • Green and yellow is another great combination which is not so common. Baby pink can as well do nice, with white though.

    • Red is the colour of love and most men in fact love it. Surprise your love with this outfit and he will sure love it. Red goes well with black and/ or white. The groom and his men’s suits can be complemented with a sleeveless three-piece/half coat and a red bowtie.

Make sure the design of the outfits is up-to-date and loved by all in the matching squad. The reception venue and seats, and the cakes should be beautifully decorated with all the colours in the combination of the theme colours. Let experts do it for you to avoid last minute frustrations.

Nice ideas. I agree with you on the part where the bride should also consult with the maidens before going ahead and making the decision. It’s important to consult both the maidens and the gents on the design of the clothes; this will ensure everyone is comfortable during the wedding.

Nowadays, people are coming up with something unique each day. For example, there are other bridal gowns designed such that the white is blended with either strands of ribbon or flowers that are the same colour as the theme colour of the wedding. This makes the gown more appealing.
