    Default White Collar Jobs

This is what most people in the world today are doing. Even the ones who don’t have them are trying their best to secure one. This has caused rural-urban migration and the manual jobs have now been left to the old and under age. Most people have a view that, manual jobs are for the uneducated.

What prompted this post was the fact that one of my friends is pursuing a degree in sales and marketing but has it with this craze of being a farmer. It’s his passion and I find it absurd and hard to believe. He only pursued the degree because, according to him, apart from being a farmer, the other next option is sales. He doesn’t seem to like offices and would prefer an open job.

Tell me what your views on white collar jobs are. Are manual jobs only for the uneducated? After college, will anyone consider going manual? Or are you like the rest going to search for white collar jobs?

It is the mind of the lazy and non-aggressive who think manual projects in the rural are only meant for the quarks and uneducated villagers. They think going to class will secure them good jobs anon after college. That is how most of them end up a waste in the village or keep moving from one town or city t another in search of white collar jobs. In work there is no need to be selective. Self-employment is in fact proved to be the best since it allows one to be a manger of his own and the mind is now open to diversification and exploration.

Farming, small scale business or building rental houses, to name a few, are some of ways on how one can invest. Since many people at least have fields in the countryside, farming happens to be the cheapest way to save some cash with which one can open a business, which will later grow as the profits increase and therefore the need for another job is lessened. This is in fact another best way of creating job opportunities for others who may be hustling out there.

I wish our youths took education to be a basic need and a source of skills for life, and not the only way to a financially successful life. Education without a job is as useless as an illiterate in the village. as well, if it chances that one find a job not relating to his area of specialization it he should not despise the same but use it to improve his career.

I agree with you lynkez, maybe this friend needs motivation rather than judgment. Manual jobs are what keep us going, without farmers; we could never have food to eat. People should not despise the work others do. It is so evident that, a job is a job as long as it earns its daily bread.

It is even cheaper that way and more profitable since you may opt to manage your own business projects as well as be recruited somewhere for a white collar job. We should avoid being so centred on one angle; what if we were not meant to be in the offices?

Is there anything like not meant to be in offices? I don’t know. I don’t believe there is somewhere I was meant to be. I have this believe that I choose where to be and work at it; and if it’s not in the office, then that’s it. I just don’t believe destiny exists.

I don't mean what you think @dacox. Take for instance someone who was God-given a gift of livestock rearing or working with the plough, or to be precise someone who went to class but had not the capacity to make it to secure a good job, yet this person has a potential of dong other manual works as masonry or the like, will this person relax and say he is not going to do the hard jobs while he suffers poor yet resources are going into a waste? Can you force into the office when you don't have one?

Okay. I get it now, and as Ivyc said, I couldn’t agree more.

White collar jobs are good and are a must for the success of some economic fields. It's possible that someone pursues a degree and goes back to self -managed jobs, I personally know a number of people who have done that. Other people also graduate and prefer the white collar jobs. But the majority of people work for money, so they have no specific preference, they are comfortable in any as long as they earn.

I'd prefer a white collar job just to gain experience and then later I'd wish to run my own business. That's my take.

This is where people go beyond mistake and think it is awful to take white collar jobs even when they are graduates! We have to understand to be patience by starting from small business in order to gain more experience but not stay dormant and stubborn to have something forcefully. Everything has its time and when it comes, it will be much better for one who at least has enough experience. Not all successful people just went for their expectation! Some are even through white collar jobs which most people hate!
It is true that gifts for best friends express friendship thoughts and emotions.
