Not every other cake, but a good and well prepared one. There is this one particular cake we had the other day, I was told that it was prepared from fruits - excuse me I don't know all the details that went to make that cake, but I must tell you it was sweet. cake or pie? hmmm... yes, I like cake as long as it is not very sweet. better if there is fruit included like mango or strawberry. Filipinos are very experimental, especially with the variety of fruits we have. same with the pies. there is one baker who makes really fantastic apple pies and it costs an arm and a leg, but it is definitely heavenly.
My all time favorite is Key Lime pie. There are certain cakes I like, especially ice cream cake, but too many times cakes are rather dry and plain. Another favorite is a fresh baked Cherry pie
Any day...CAKE..chocolate cake at that! Pies don't even come close. I like cakes much better that pies. I'm not very fond of pies. I like the freshly baked soft cakes much better.
