    Default God the True Food

    John 4 31- 34

Meanwhile the disciples besought him, saying, “Rabbi, eat” but he said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know”. So the disciples said to one another, “has anyone brought him food?” Jesus said to them, “my food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish his work”

When the disciples asked Jesus to eat he denied, it was not that he had eaten earlier but wanted to show his disciples who the true food was and not the worldly food which passes with time.

Jesus himself initiated the sacrament, which followers cerebrate to commemorate the death and resurrection of him, this is a symbol of everlasting food of the soul.

Do you realize that we should depend on God for his spiritual food daily as Jesus did?

In the Lord’s Prayer there is a section that requires that we ask God to give the daily bread, God is the giver, and he provides for our needs, we should therefore depend in him to give all we want. He provided for Elijah; being fed by ravens. So we are not an exemption he can provide for us too if at all we trust and have faith in Him.

Apart from the physical or bodily food for growth and sustainability, we as well need spiritual food. The word of God is fully nutritious to nurture us spiritually, make us grow stronger in faith and provide for us the truth for which we should live. The word itself comes from God and God is love and life, therefore with the word we live.

As Christians we need to care for both the physical and spiritual body. God is the provider and protector we need to look upon Him for everything the way He taught us in His prayer. The word of God that we need for spiritual growth contains life and so if we practice it then we truly live life.
