What a Wonderful Gift That God Has Given Us?

God has provided a wonderful gift of eternal life to humanity. How can we receive this gift? By accepting God’s testimony about His Son and keeping His commandments. John’s discussion on faith in Jesus and who Jesus is and why we can accept God’s testimony is not an academic exercise. It has a clear, practical goal –finding eternal life in the Son of God.

John’s opponents who questioned the true divinity of Christ had a different view of Jesus and did not believe in Him in the biblical sense. Because they did not believe Jesus of Scripture, they did not have eternal life even if they would claim to have it, even if they had superior knowledge and a good feeling about possessing eternal life. Better have Jesus and believe in him so that we can have everlasting life.

We must make a special effort to come to know all God has given you. We cannot use what we do not know we have. If God has given you a special gift but you are unaware of His gift, then you will probably not use His gift. You are to use your life to glorify God.

We were initially immortal, until the serpent through our weak mind and nature failed us. We therefore had to die, but for the love of God for us, He plotted to redeem us through His begotten son Jesus Christ. Jesus bore our sins and crucified them on the cross. He died a human death and was laid in the tomb, but He conquered death by resurrecting on the third day just like the scriptures stated, thus grating us hope to life after death. However, only the righteous will live forever but otherwise will perish in Hades.

God has given us a second chance to get close to him, we should make good use of this opportunity by repenting our sins. We should make good use of the talents that he has given us to proclaim the good news to those who are unreached, failure to do so we will all perish in eternal hell forever.
