Have Oil in Your Vessels

“The kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five of them were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps they took no oil with them; but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps”

Mathew 25 1-4


The two classes of watchers represent the two classes who profess to be waiting for the lord. They are called virgins because they profess a pure faith. The lamp represents the word of god and the oil as a symbol of the Holy Spirit.


So with the church that lives just waiting for Christ’s second coming. All have knowledge of the scripture. All have heard the message of Christ’s near approach, and confidently expect his coming. Many are not ready to meet him. They have no oil in their lamps. Instead they are destitute of the Holy Spirit.


Do you have oil in your vessels?

Of course, to have oil also is a big deal since you have to commit everything to God including what you really love most and that is you. With oil you moves ahead in God’s ministry work.

Faith is the oil that we should have in our hearts so that we do not run impatient for the Lord's return. We need not lose hope before the end of the tunnel for a reward comes forth for the persistent and the well doers.
