Unhappy What do you do when all things go wrong?

Life sometimes comes at you too fast.

There are times you wake up and then just want to go back to sleep for the rest of your life. Everything seems to be bad, at school you failed a major class, at work you are stressed up on your performance and your boss is all over your business the whole day and back home, don't forget your spouse has been arguing with you over every other small issue.

The other hopeful boat during this hurricane in your life is your parent but they have been demanding that it is about time that you give them grandchildren. What are the best measures to take when all this things go wrong?

I agree with you, they say its one of "them days" when all around you seems to be falling apart and the only options seems to be giving up and calling it quit.

The first thing we should all realize is that it's okay. It's okay and perfectly normal to feel or be overwhelmed with this kind of thoughts or situation. I think its important to realize and accept this simple fact that as a human being we will always have this kind of emotions and feelings.

The second aspect then is to be able to control how you react to this kind of negative feelings and thoughts. It's important that we learn to recognize such thoughts, accept them and then redirect them in a positive way in order to achieve a positive outcome each time we are faced with such a situation.

The third aspect is the ability to perpetually develop a self actualization state of being. This I believe is a state when we are totally confident with ourselves, know what exactly we want and are in the process of go get it mental attitude. When things don't work as projected instead of giving up and feeling all worn out, we adjust to suite the current situation with our eyes set at the ultimate goal.

Very good advice Joseph. Yes, I have been through days (and weeks, and even months) like that - when things just go wrong, bad stuff keeps happening, you don't know what to fix next and how. It is hard, it gets on your nerves. There comes a point when you can't take it anymore. It is important to give yourself a break, but not to slide into depression and not give up.

Sometimes the situation may not be "bad" but we conceive it as "bad" because it is not what we want in our lives at the moment. For instance, a person may conceive that their boss is the too demanding. Because of the demands the person is stressed out and blames the boss. Is it possible that the person actually wants to start their own business but is afraid to take that step and risk failing so she remains on the job and complains about her boss leaving herself blameless?

When things "go wrong" people have to determine if something is wrong or if we just perceive the situation as "wrong".

I think that's some very useful advice in the post above.

I've experienced feelings of being overwhelmed at times. Sometimes I think getting a perspective of "the big picture" has helped me. I've especially found it tough when different areas of my life were getting messed up at the same time, as mentioned in the opening post.

Most of the times we accept bad things as a problem. Its a bad habit actually, as Joseph said we have to redirect them in positive ways and its by accepting that all of these bad things is just a challenges and not a problem...

It is normal that you fail sometimes, successful people has a lot of failure in their lives also...but it doesn't matter how many times you fall, what matters most is, how many times you bounce back and move on...

Every problem has it's solution. No matter what the problem is you have to face it and overcome it. You can't just run away and leave things be. You can overcome it if you will be brave enough to accept it as a challenge. Learn from it and grow.

Well, I don't know if every problem has a solution. There is a saying, "What can't be cured must be endured," and it was invented for a reason. Sometimes we have to learn to live with it, and work our way around it.

A problem without solution? Easy - an ongoing medical condition that doctors can't do anything about. Or a bad financial situation that will not just go away in a couple of months.
