Crazy times call for crazy reaction!

I was browsing through the internet looking for a job. As I looked through the posting I saw a job posting that raised a lot of issues in my mind. I know some will see it as issue of no concern but for me i wondered what money could not buy in this world. In this job posting they were looking for a Jewish girl to donate her egg.The prize was quite a chunk for you to think about again and again before saying no. I saw this as human trafficking. How in the name of Holy God did money start buying the one thing created in his own image?

After I told my friends of this incidence we debated for a while and after some issues were raised of unemployment, prostitution and abortion I was swayed to believe it is better than all that.

The question that came to me is you were in a situation that you needed the money so bad and you have tried all other ways but all were unsuccessful, would you do it or ask your sister or daughter to do this? What if you were the other party who is unable to give birth for any reason would you buy an egg or just adopt a kid out there who is looking for loving parents?

There are a lot of people who are willing to do anything that will help them to make money, just in the same way that there are people with money who are willing to do crazy stuff with the money that they have.

I remember a month ago there was a report on CNN about this twenty something old girl who had decided to auction her virginity to the highest bidder who was willing to also take care of her as a wife. There are crazy amazing stories and things happening out there!

Back to your question, because of the way of life that I have been brought up and my moral and christian beliefs, it will be extremely hard for me to bring myself to do such an act, but I'm also aware that there are people who find this quite a natural decision to make and will not even give it a second thinking especially if they are desperate and want to have their own kids.

I think it would seem less strange if a relationship was developed between the egg donor and the couple wanting to have the child.

I've heard of people having children for others, but it seems kind of cold to advertise something like that online, in a classified ad section.

That is very strange for me, but considering the fact that money plays a very important figure in our daily life. For instance in the Philippines, I have seen this in tv. Poor people were selling their kidney for 50k pesos. Imagine loosing a vital organ in your body.

I've also heard of that happening. I think that's very sad and tragic.

I suppose one difference of this example and the example of the girl possibly donating her egg is that she would probably not affect her overall health by donating her egg, but there may be a huge moral dilemma there for her.

I would have to go about thinking about it like this would it be any different than having a surrogate mother to get a child it would still be using her eggs and your husbands sperm to have a child. Besides if men can sell their sperm then what is wrong with women selling their eggs, it goes on the same level.
When it comes down to it I would have to say that if I could provide a child for someone that otherwise would not be able to have, I would be happy to sell one of my eggs to let them experience the joy of parenthood.

I haven't given this a thought. I'd rather adopt than buy an egg from other people. I don't want to try it even if i'm broke. lol. Why would i ask my sister or daughter to do that for me. O.O That would be so selfish of me if I did.

I would not do it. I know some people would think there is nothing wrong with selling an egg, but I don't want to mess with such things. There are many different implications, spiritual, moral, ethical. In some cases people use donated eggs, perhaps donating it a slightly different matter, but I would still think long and hard about it.
