Question When is it the right time to let go?

Have you ever had something so precious and you treasured it so much be it a business, a person or a course at school but it never returns the favor as expected. When do you ever know whether it is the right time to let go after investing too much time and the results are still frustrating year after year.

You too afraid to know whether letting go is the right thing to do. When do you know what the right thing to do at such a situation?

Depending on what exactly we are talking about, this can be a very difficult question. Suppose it is achieving a dream of becoming a professional singer. You try, and try, and try, you have invested years of hard work in it, but it's just not happening. I'd say don't give up. You never know - you quit today, and maybe that breakthrough audition was going to happen tomorrow.

Hmm... I think the right time to let go is when its starting to affect you too much. Wherein you become emotional stress and when you do not have any means of hopes for it at all.

It can be very difficult to know when to stop working at something. I guess it is true that the first rule of success is to never give up.

Aside from that, we may change our goals to have less expectations from a specific pursuit. Like in the case of someone wanting to be a singer, maybe they could join a choir or singing ensemble rather than being a soloist.

I believe JC Penney was over 80 years old when his stores became a success, and he'd had several failed business attempts in the past. His family had told him to give up, but he didn't.

A good time to let go is when you are willing to do anything to keep what you are trying to hold on to (I hope that makes sense). If you have a mate and you are willing to do anything to keep that mate, you need to let go. If there is a job promotion that you want and you are willing to do anything to keep it, it is time to let go. If you want to become a famous singer and you are willing to do anything to become a famous singer, it is time to let it go.
A good time to let it go is when the "it" is no longer something that you are pursuing but "it" is something that is controlling you.

The right time to let go of anything is when you are ready to face the outcomes of what is going to happen after letting go. If you're letting go of something you shouldn't regret anything about it. If you feel you can still live after doing so then I think it's the right time for you.

What about opportunity costs? Do you have something better to do? If not, then you should continue your dream, that is the rule.

Well if you did some forecast of your business and the outcome is not good it's better to let go of it than suffer more.

If we are talking specifically about a business, I would have to agree. If you see that the business is failing and cannot be saved, it is best to stop before you have wasted all you have on it. No one says you should give up on running a business altogether; you can try something else later on.
