Default Teachers Life Cover Deal with the Hospital Fund

It has been said that teachers have signed a Sh4.2 billion cover for life deal with the NHIF.

This is another corporate dient win for the National Hospital Insurance Fund for it has brought at least 260,000 teachers under its medical cover. The First achievement for the NHIF was being able to roll out a health insurance scheme for civil servants.

The deal offers room for both primary and secondary teachers to receive affordable healthcare even after retirement.

Richard Kerich, the fund’s chief executive officer reports that scheme will take effect as from March, covering the teachers’ nucleus family for both in-patient and out-patient covers.

I am for that too and applaud the teachers for the step. Let others follow suit.
