Thumbs up Warning to Chiefs on F.G.M

The District Commissioner of Trans Mare has sounded a warning to chiefs who will allow for early marriages of school girls and female genital mutilation.

Mr Mbogo Mathioya asked administrators to see to it that all children have access to education so as to improve on literacy levels in the county.

It is a pity to learn that still forced and premature marriages are still taking place in our country even after civilization and free education. Female genital mutilation is anther unhygienic practise which has been going on in many African communities for years but glad enough, this is being fought out ad soon it will be no more. There is no value at all in the practise but that it only adds more problems to the girls especially when delivering.

The campaign against these practises in Trans Mara and other communities which still undertake it should be vas and reinforced by the top government so that education can be enhanced in the areas. The old men's only aim is cows which come as dowry in exchange of the 'wives'. They need as well to be educated on the importance of going to school.

The Masai are one of the communities that still run the genital mutilation of the female gender and too marry their daughters at an earlier age, let the warning sound to them serious and a positive action be taken soon.

I'm surprised that there are people who practice this barbaric thing, l think they should be caught and the law should be applied to them appropriately. F. G.M and the early and forced marriages should be done away with these are modern times and they should also put into consideration the outcomes of such acts. I'm glad this is being sort out.
