Seriously do we need all the cool features on a cell phone?

One thing that scares me now days is the prospect of having to buy a new gadget, for instance a cell phone!

We are presented with so many choices with so many diverse features that I'm left wondering loudly - do we need all that.

I think cell phone manufacturers will not cease until they fit a whole computer into a cell phone, which is good, but has the down side too.

• My simple question is, what do you think, do we really need all those cool features on a cell phone?

The advent of smart phones has opened the doors to Kenyans in terms of technology. We can now easily take pictures and send it over the wireless network. We do not have to buy a CD player or walkman because our phone can do that. I do not know anything useless that is in my cell phone. Maybe games but some people need those to kill time.

It depends on the person using it and on the situation. If you're a normal person living in a farm you don't need phones with such features such as bluetooth etc etc.

Me I love some features on my phone sometimes they really are my lifesavers.

here are some examples

1. Calculator - it really helps me a lot specially on dealing with big numbers
2. Camera
3. Mp3 player
4. GPRS - Recieving & sending E-mails anytime and anywhere by the use of your phone

5. Bluetoth - Sending files to another phone/computer or any bluetooth compatible devices.

The most important things that my cell phone can do, other than communicating, are:

* clock to tell time and wake me up for an appointment;
* play MP3 music files to while away the time in traffic or wherever you are;
* games to kill the boredom if you are waiting for someone or something; and
* camera to take a snapshot of something - it may not me of good qaulity compared to a digital camera but it is better than nothing.

Seriously we don't need them but we love them. Personally I have a problem every now and then I am always upgrading my phone to keep up technology. I really don't need most of those features but having them around is convenient.

Sometimes the wants becomes our needs. Well the phone with some cool stuffs are good and gadget saver too. If you have a phone with a camera, radio, alarm clock, mp3 player and gprs makes your life easy. You don't have to buy a camera, radio or anyother else because you can all get it in one. It's like a package.
