Default Idea for New Business

What type of new business would work in Kenya. I am tired of my job and would like to be my own boss. I am thinking of a spa. Is there still a demand for these services?

I know there is much demand for these services if you can cough up enough capital to start a presentable spa. Kenyan women and some men like to pamper themselves after a hard day at work. Tourism is also booming in Kenya so you can count on tourists to supplement your income.

I know education is one of the booming areas of business in Kenya. If you do not have enough money to start up a school, then a tutoring service can be launched with a much smaller capital requirement.

I always wanted to oopen up a beauty salon where you can have your hair and nails done. I do not think the investment requirement would be too high and I would manage and work on it myself. However, I heard that hiring and retaining employees can be a pain...

A good business idea would be starting a new restaurant in Nairobi. I know the city is filled with hundreds of restaurants but I think there are still room for more. The people in the city can't seem to live without eating out. How about a restaurant specializing in game meats?

I would love to start a coffee shop in Nairobi. Maybe I will call it StarShillings. Seriously coffee shops should be very profitable. They only costs cents to make and will earn you a fat profit. I love coffee anyway so my inventory would be probably low because I will end up consuming most of my supplies.

How about opening an internet cafe in Nairobi? There is demand for these services especially for people without computers in poorer areas. You can do a good service to fellow Kenyans by introducing them to the wired world while at the same time earning a little money on the side.

Since Kenya has a booming tourism industry, I always wanted to open a business that caters to tourists. It seems to be a good idea offering tours to foreigners and investment is minimal. You only have to be patient with tourists and have an engaging personality to show tourists the beauty of Kenya.
