Default Baboon Seen Roaming New Jersey Neighborhood

Police remain on the lookout for a baboon after fielding calls reporting the animal was seen roaming a New Jersey neighborhood.

Authorities say that it may have escaped from the nearby Six Flags Great Adventure’s Monkey Jungle, which homes 150 baboons.

The baboon has not been identified, though the animals in the Monkey Jungle are microchipped. However, the animal would need to be very close to be identified by a chip reader.

The first report came Thursday, when a driver said the baboon was seen near Interstate 195, and later that day a woman reported seeing a baboon sitted on her back porch in Jackson. On Friday morning, two residents in developments not too far from the park said a baboon was in their neighborhoods.

Poorly fenced orphanages can be the reason to why the animals disappear minus the knowledge of the security, and or there are those who steal the animals from their place of stay. Hope it will be found and returned to safer hands.

It is good that the baboon is harmless and has been spotted several times in the neighbourhood. Let the game rangers capture it and return it to the Monkey Jungle.
