    Default Age has Nothing to Do With Becoming a Dad

    A man’s wait to hold his own child is finally over. Ramajit Raghav, became a father to a son for the first time at the advanced age of 94.

    Ramajit comes from a small village in India and has been working at his landlord’s farm for the last 22 years. He married Shakuntala, his second wife ten years ago who is believed to be in her 50s presently.

    Shakuntala was admitted to the Kharkoda town Government civil Hospital last month where she delivered normally a bouncing baby boy.

    The proud parents have named their baby Karamjit and his father insists that he is ‘God’s gift’ to him. He also adds that his age is only a number and he has a clear, clutter-free mind.

    When he was asked whether he was worried about his child’s future, the new dad insisted that he is in good health and that he would still be around in a decade.

    He says;
    ‘Nothing will happen to my child as I will die only if a black snake bites me and that is very far, ‘Visit me after 10 years and you will find me in the same appearance.’
    Dr. Mahendra Kumar the senior medical officer of the hospital confirmed the birth of the child and said that though it was a remote possibility to have a child at this age; it could not be completely ruled out.

    Dr. Mahendra says;

    ‘Having babies at such age is remote possibility but then it can’t be ruled out as it just needs one sperm to fertilize the egg.’
    With this birth, Ramajit has beaten the previous holder of the oldest dad crown in India, a 90 year old Nanu Ram Jogi, who became a dad to his 22nd child in 2007.

    It’s quite funny, I think now we have evidence that children are a gift from God, at whatever age if you still hope you will get whatever you want.

    They should thank God in their lives and the gift he has granted them at their advanced age.

    Still he is not the first one for Ibrahim and Sarah opened the page long ago. It is God who made man and is still the one who provides children at any age. Scientists only made a theory that at a given age one cannot have children but the record has severally been beaten. Congratulations for the baby boy! You have a reason to thank God again.

    Age is just a number what really matters is your attitude, how you see and take things. Children are always seen as gifts from God and that is the way it should remain, God gives children to us at his own fullness of time and at whatever age they come we should always be grateful to God.

    I will call this a miracle, because a woman in her 50s is already at it with menopause. This reminds me of a story about a young boy of 12 years from china who became a proud dad. He was pronounced the youngest dad in the world although the mother of his child was 15yrs old. Both were willing to keep and take care of the child. I just didn’t seem to figure out how they were going to take care of the baby since they were both teenagers in middle school.
