Mexican Authorities: Top Drug Cartel Leader Arrested

Officials say that Mexican authorities managed to capture the boss of one of the country’s most violent drug cartels on Tuesday.

Mexico’s national security spokesman said that Jose de Jesus Mendez Vargaz also known as “The Monkey” was capture in the state of Aguascalientes.

Police say that the capture is the most overwhelming blow to the group.

Mexican president Felipe Calderon also praised the capture on his official Twitter account.

The Tuesday operation marked the fall of 21 suspects who were on Mexico’s “most dangerous criminals” list.

The drug cartel, La Familia started operating in the state of Michoacan more than a decade ago but grabbed national attention in 2006 after reportedly hurling five decapitated heads of rival gang members onto a dance floor.

The cartel is known for its violence and the rules it imposes on the members.

I hope they arrest the other drug cartel leaders too. News about their violent cartel wars are just way too alarming. Makes you want to kill all those drug-controlled psychos yourself.

Drugs have made the youth to be irrelevant in society. We need youths to provide both skilled and unskilled labor in various sectors of the economy but if they use drugs then we have a sorry situation . Thanks for Mexican authorities for capturing the boss and other countries should do the same.

What makes me very, very sad and bitter is a person who is a grandfather selling drugs to children in that case to his grandsons and granddaughters.
