22 Killed in Easter Vigil in Benue

At least 22 Christians of St Robert's Catholic Mission Church in State took up the ghost on Saturday night following the collapse of the church building while an Easter Vigil Mass was ongoing.

More than 31 worshipers are reported to have sustained serious injuries while the fate of the survivors is to be confirmed as at press time.

The priest in charge of the St. Robert's Church says that the building collapse was as a result of over-populated worshipers and that the church could not accommodate the large congregation.

They had planned to have the vigil mass outside and under trees but following heavy rainstorms, all the worshipers were forced to rush to the church building
